Presented by, FHC & Dr. Adam Blanning, MD:
In this presentation, the speakers explore anthroposophic pharmacy and the development and use of various natural and anthroposophic remedies. The presentation examines the idea of working with both the “ponderable and imponderable,” considering not only the physical properties of plants and minerals but also their broader qualities and relationships to human health. Several remedies are discussed in detail, including mistletoe preparations such as Viscum Vitalizer, chamomile, Quercus 5% ointment, Betulin cream, and other newer or specialized preparations. The speakers describe traditional uses, preparation methods, and clinical applications for conditions involving the skin, inflammation, respiratory and immune concerns, and other health challenges. The presentation also highlights emerging areas of anthroposophic medicine, including the use of mistletoe in relation to HPV-related cervical changes. Overall, the presentation provides an introduction to how anthroposophic medicine approaches pharmacy and individualized treatment by connecting natural substances, their preparation, and their therapeutic qualities with a broader understanding of the human being.
